HELP Management

The Highway Emergency Local Patrol (HELP) program, sponsored by NYSDOT in partnership with State Farm, provides free roadside emergency services on major roads throughout Long Island during peak travel times. The program was established in 1994 to increase safety and to decrease congestion by clearing disabled vehicles from active lanes of traffic.

Wiley Engineering provides dispatchers to communicate with some 15 HELP vehicles patrolling the Long Island parkways and expressways between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 am and again from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays. We also provide monitoring and inspection for the HELP vehicle and Parkway tow contract operators that they adhere to their contractual agreements.
